Gynecare Intergel® is a thick surgical gel, designed for use after gynaecological surgery to help prevent adhesions or scarring.
The adhesion prevention solution made of sodium hyaluronate and iron was approved for use in 2001 as was used until 2003 when the manufacturer, Johnson and Johnson voluntarily withdrew it from the global market.
Some women treated with Gynecare Intergel® went on to develop late onset post-operative pain and some required repeat surgery following the onset of pain. Non-infectious foreign body reactions and tissue adherence were also reported. In some patients a residual matter was observed during the surgery.
If you have been harmed after being treated with Gynecare Intergel® you may be able to make a claim for compensation.
