Desperate bid to trace co-workers of tragic victim of asbestos

Death from asbestos cancer, mesothelioma

Lawyers acting for Beryl Baker, the widow of a Salisbury carpenter who died a tragic and painful death from the asbestos cancer mesolthelioma are desperate to trace his co-workers.

Keith Baker, who died in August 2003, served an apprenticeship with Salisbury Corporation on leaving school in 1957. He then commenced employment with a local firm Roles & Sons (Salisbury) Limited in the early 1960s.

Keith Baker worked on a number of maintenance contracts with Salisbury Corporation, particularly the District Housing Scheme based at the Reema Housing Estate where he installed shutters around hot water pipes lagged with asbestos materials. During his time at Roles & Sons (Salisbury) Limited he cut sheets of asbestos board, possibly of the type going under the brand name 'asbestolux', in their carpentry workshop.
