Thompsons calls for swift action after Prime Minister's announcement on asbestos
Asbestos and mesothelioma
Thompsons Solicitors has welcomed the comment by Tony Blair that he is looking for the best opportunity to change the House of Lords decision in Barker. The firm called for swift action to prevent further delay in reversing the ruling.
The House of Lords decision last month robs thousands of mesothelioma sufferers and their families of full compensation.
Ian McFall, Thompsons national head of asbestos litigation said: "What we need from the Government is swift and decisive action to restore the law to what it was before the House of Lords decision. Until that happens many more deserving families will face receiving less than their full entitlement to compensation. I applaud the GMB for raising this important issue with the Prime Minister."
