Mesothelioma Compensation Claim

Steve's client in this case was a 60 year old man who was diagnosed with mesothelioma.  Many years before he had been employed by a well-known company based in Derby who had negligently exposed him to asbestos.

To begin with the defendant's insurers refused to admit liability or settle the claim so Steve issued court proceedings.  The insurers then admitted liability and settled the claim before the case was heard in court.  Steve recovered over a quarter of a million pounds for his client and the compensation was recovered within his lifetime which gave him peace of mind that his family would be provided for financially after his death.

Asbestos-related Lung Cancer

In this case Steve's client had been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer.  It was a difficult case as the client was not also suffering from asbestosis which is normally a good indicator that the lung cancer is asbestos-related.

Steve succeeded in proving that the lung cancer was caused by asbestos however and as his former employers had already admitted to negligently exposing him to asbestos many years before, Steve was able to recover compensation.

£100,000 was recovered which provided for the client's wife after his death.
