Head Injury at Work
In this case, Christalla's client was injured at work while carrying out an inspection. As the man turned around, he hit his head on a piece of scaffolding which was protruding out. The scaffolding should have been covered with a yellow cap but was not.
The insurers of the injured man's employers made several offers which Christalla advised her client to reject before eventually receiving a suitable offer which he accepted.
Trip and Fall at Work
Christalla's client in this case was a man who was injured at work when he slipped on a ramp. The ramp had been in place for many years and acted as a route between the work building and the yard. Unfortunately it had been heavily used and had become worn and damaged.
When the man slipped and fell, he injured his ankle badly and was absent from work for a long time. After his accident the ramp was removed and it was later discovered that his employers had known about the dangerous condition of the ramp and that they had even obtained quotes to have it removed or replaced but had not acted upon them.
Christalla recovered almost £20,000 for the injured worker.
