Successful Personal Injury Claims

Below, you will find just a small selection of some of the personal injury claims Gerard has dealt with in the London office.

Multiple injuries to cyclist

Gerard's client in this case was a man cycling to work.  He was cycling along as normal when a driver pulled out from the junction of a minor road and into his path.  The two vehicles collided and Gerard's client suffered multiple injuries including head injuries, several fractures to a leg and arm, a fractured jaw and a partially collapsed lung.

To ease the financial burden, Gerard recovered an interim payment while the injured man went through lengthy rehabilitation.  He went on to make a miraculous recovery and even returned to work.  Gerard recovered a substantial amount of compensation for this man which he was very happy with.

Vibration White Finger Compensation

In this case, Gerard's client wanted to make a compensation claim after being diagnosed with vibration white finger.  He had worked within the railway industry most of his life and during the 1970's started working with vibrating tools such as airguns and needle guns.

He worked with the vibrating tools for many years before he was even warned about the dangers of vibration white finger by his employer.  It was even longer until he was provided with any safety wear such as anti-vibration tools.  By the time the warnings and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) were distributed the damage to the man's hands had already been done.

When he started developing classic signs of the illness such as numbness in his fingers and a pins and needles sensation, he visited his GP who diagnosed Vibration White Finger.

Gerard had to issue court proceedings in this case but was able to recover several thousand pounds compensation for the injured worker.
