Henrietta Phillips

Serious Injury Solicitor in London

Henrietta is a highly experienced personal injury solicitor based in our head office in central London.  Henrietta is head of our London and South East Serious Injury Unit.

Henrietta has a vast amount of experience dealing with all different types of personal injury claims including head and brain injuries, spinal cord injuries and amputations.  Many of the claims she deals with involving these catastrophic and life-changing injuries have been caused by accidents at work or road accidents.

Appointing an experienced solicitor is very important when such serious injuries are involved.  Experience really can make a big difference to the success or failure of the case and also to the amount of compensation recovered, which in many cases has to provide for the injured person for the rest of their life.

Henrietta works hard for every single one of her clients to ensure they receive the maximum amount of compensation they deserve.  She has been a member of the Law Society's Personal Injury Panel since 2004 and is accredited as a Senior Litigator with The Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL).

Successful Personal Injury Claims

Below you will find just a small selection of personal injury claims which Henrietta has dealt with from the London Office.

Cycling Accident

Henrietta's client in this case was a woman who was cycling to work using the cycle lane.  A lorry pulled left into her lane and not only knocked her off her cycle but also ran over her, trapping her legs under the wheels.

She suffered serious injuries including several fractures and degloving injuries which required extensive skin grafts.  She was left permanently disabled and unable to ride her cycle again.

Henrietta recovered a six-figure sum for the injured woman which took into account the impact her disability had on her career as well as her social activities.

Hit and Run Injuries

In this case, Henrietta acted for the victim of a hit and run who was left lying unconscious in the road by the driver who had been on the wrong side of the road with no lights on.

The victim suffered multiple injuries including a head injury and several fractures.  She was left with permanent injuries and was no longer able to work.

The police did manage to trace the negligent driver but unfortunately they were uninsured.  Henrietta then made a claim through the Motor Insurers Bureau and negotiated a seven figure sum in compensation for the injured woman.

This figure took into account her future lost earnings and also alterations she needed to have carried out to her home.

Fatal Injuries

Henrietta's client in this case was the widow of a man who was killed whilst visiting his local recycling centre.  He was disposing of his rubbish when he was hit by the shovel of a vehicle being operated by a member of staff and was crushed against a nearby wall.  He was taken to hospital but later died of his injuries.

Henrietta was successful with her claim against the recycling centre and recovered compensation for the man's widow which although did nothing to replace her husband, did provide her with some financial stability after the loss of her husband and his income.

Seriously injured at work

In this case Henrietta acted for a man who was injured at work when he was hit by a train.  The man worked as a maintenance engineer on the railway and suffered serious injuries in the accident including a fractured skull, a fractured spine and several other fractures to his limbs.

It was normal procedure for a lookout to be posted to warn engineers of oncoming trains but on the day of his accident, Henrietta's client heard no warnings before he was hit.

He was unable to return to work as a result of the injuries and needed many operations in the months following his accident.  His head injury left him with permanent concentration and memory problems.

Henrietta fought hard in this case to recover compensation for her injured client and was successful in recovering a sum he was happy with before the case went to court.
