Amputation following workplace accident

In this case, Imogen's client was a man who injured his hand whilst at work.  He was cleaning a machine through an open hatch but the room was extremely dark and noisy meaning that the man couldn't tell that the machine was still running.  His hand was pulled into the machine and crushed between two rollers.

The man lost several of his fingers in the accident at work and after many operations to try and save his thumb; this also had to be amputated, resulting in him requiring a prosthesis.

Imogen recovered a significant six figure compensation payment for her injured client and he was very happy with the service provided.

The injured man's employers were also fined £50,000 following a prosecution by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and took steps after the accident to improve the working conditions to avoid similar accidents happening in the future.
