Brain Injury Victim received nearly £1m

In this case Thompsons acted for the father of a road accident victim who suffered a life-changing brain injury. At the time of the accident the boy was only 16 years old but even after he turned 18, his injuries meant that he wasn't capable of dealing with the paperwork and decisions involved with making a claim therefore his father dealt with the case for him.

The boy was a rear seat passenger in a car being driven by a friend. The driver lost control of the vehicle whilst driving at speed and collided with a lamppost and a wall.

He suffered multiple serious injuries and at first it looked unlikely that he would survive. He had multiple skull fractures, a brain haemorrhage, a collapsed lung and a fractured eye socket. The injuries to his brain caused him to develop epilepsy, memory problems, concentration problems, anger management problems and vision problems.

Thompsons recovered nearly £1m for the boy which took into account the lengthy rehabilitation he required and ongoing care for the remainder of his life.

An extract of a thank you letter from his father read "I write to record my thanks for the advice, support and representation made ... throughout. £65,000 for pedestrian hit by uninsured driver

When Mr Holt was hit by an uninsured driver whilst crossing the road he contacted Thompsons' specialist personal injury solicitors. The driver was prosecuted by the police after hitting the pedestrian. He suffered multiple injuries, particularly to his legs, and received £65,000 in damages from the Motor Insurers Bureau.

Pedestrian hit by car recovers £14,000

Thompsons Solicitors have recently recovered £14,000 in compensation for a lady injured as a pedestrian. The lady was crossing the road using a pedestrian crossing and had almost reached the pavement, when she was hit by a car.

The lady suffered a broken left radius as well as some soft tissue damage to her left ankle.

Her thank you letter read:

£8,700 compensation for Road Accident Victim

Mr Byrne wrote to Thompsons to thank us for our help with his case after we successfully recovered £8,700 compensation for him.

He had been driving towards red traffic lights, so had slowed down and stopped waiting for the lights to change. He was then hit in the rear by another vehicle.

His main injuries were back and neck pain and subsequent thoracic syrinx and hydromyelia.

Whiplash Injury Compensation

When Erika Lucas was involved in a car accident and suffered a whiplash injury, she contacted Thompsons Solicitors for assistance.

She was stationary at a roundabout when she was hit in the rear by another vehicle and sustained an injury to her neck, for which she required physiotherapy.

Chris Brierley was injured when the taxi in which he was travelling was involved in an accident and became wedged between 2 coaches. The taxi had to be winched out. He suffered a whiplash injury and received £1,250 compensation.
