A Middlesbrough salon and local pupils raise money for a brain injury charity

Gallagher’s hair salon on Linthorpe Road in Middlesbrough are selling Christmas cards designed by local school children to raise money for the brain injury charity, Headway Teesside.

The Christmas cards are designed by pupils from Viewley Hill Primary School. 10 festive designs have been chosen for sale and the packs cost just £3.

Students at the King’s Academy have been selling the festive cards to local businesses as part of a ‘junior apprentice task’ and this is helping to raise even more funds for the charity.

Headway Teesside

Headway is a charity that provides information and support to victims of brain injuries and their families. Headway Teesside is part of a network of branches that provide this much needed service.

The funds raised from this Christmas card sale will help the charity maintain and extend the services they provide.

David Robinson, secretary of Headway Teesside and serious injury solicitor, said: “Headway Teesside relies upon local businesses and the community, without which we would not be able to continue to provide the services and support we currently do.

“The students at King’s Academy fully embraced their ‘junior apprentice’ task, combining enterprising acumen with the spirit of Christmas.”
