Free legal services for union members

We provide a range of free legal services to union members via their union. We have listed all of our services below for your information, however you will need to contact your union representative to find out what specific services you are entitled to.

Personal injury

Free cover for:
• Any accident or disease at or away from work for members (including road traffic accidents) which was not your fault
• Any non work accident or disease in the UK for family members (including road traffic
accidents) which was not their fault
• Some accidents abroad for members and family members where they were not at fault
• Disease cases, where you were not at fault, covered whenever the exposure occurred.

Employment

Free cover for:
• Any work related employment issue for members.

Initially a union will, wherever possible, seek an industrial solution (possibly advised by Thompsons) without recourse to tribunals. Using the extensive network of local and national officials the aim is to try, at all costs, to save a member's job rather than simply get them compensation after they've lost it. Where we act for the union, we provide advice to the union and then, if required, will work directly with the member.

Criminal Law

• Free initial advice and representation for any member with a work related criminal case.

Criminal Compensation

• Free advice and representation for members who have been the victim of a criminal assault at work

Pensions

• Free advice for members on pension entitlement and specialist legal representation where necessary.

Free Legal Advice

• Free 30 minute advice on any non employment related legal issue for members.

Conveyancing

• Fixed price and highly competitive conveyancing services for members and their family.

Wills

• Union wills service
